PubMed for Research
PubMed provides free access to MEDLINE, a premier life sciences/biomedical database. This workshop will help you learn how to use PubMed to find scientific literature and will cover features that allow you to search efficiently, such as filters, Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), and automating and saving searches.
After participating in this workshop, you will be able to:
- Identify library and information services
- Intentionally select information sources, methods, or tools in order to appropriately meet a need, answer a question, or solve a problem.
- Formulate effective strategies to find relevant resources, while engaging in reflective and recursive searching practices.
- Develop effective strategies for collecting, organizing, managing, or preserving information
- Create a search using the Boolean operators in PubMed
- Use Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) to construct a search
- Narrow the results by using filters
- Utilize the “Send to” options
