Ovid Databases Searching Class (Online)

This is an online class, in a webinar format.  You will need speakers or headphones to hear the presentation.  You will be communicating with the instructor via chat, so no microphone is required.

·         Get a quick overview

Ovid databases are subscription resources provided through the library. Highlighted in this class are three biomedical databases searchable through Ovid: CAB Abstracts, EMBASE, and MEDLINE.

By the end of the class, participants will be able to:

1. Summarize the difference between the content within CAB Abstracts, EMBASE, and MEDLINE.

2. Create a search using the connectors AND, OR.

3. Use Subject Headings and truncation to improve search results.

4. Narrow the results by using limits like publication type, language, and date.

5. Set up an Ovid account and save searches.

6. Utilize options to email or save citations.
